West Australian and National Committee member John Southalan published a thoughtful  feature article in Brief, the magazine of the WA Law Society, comparing the common law and human rights regimes in securing freedoms for individuals and groups in society. This was based on a lively discussion held in Perth in December last year. John also has a book coming out soon on mining law and policy. We'll let you know when it hits the shelves.
 
Catherine Renshaw and I published an opinion piece in the Courier-Mail on the importance of equality of rights to access marriage as between heterosexual and other couples.
