Description	This submission is made by a group of legal practitioners and scholars working on issues of international law and human rights. It derives from a roundtable discussion jointly organized by the International Section of Australian Lawyers for Human Rights and the British Institute of International and Comparative Law held in London on 1 May 2009. The majority of those who participated were expatriate Australian citizens, with added expertise shared by colleagues working on human rights systems in comparable jurisdictions, including in the United Kingdom and in New Zealand.
